Flexible support for children, families, and adults.
Northwood Outpatient Services is a community-based mental health program. In addition to this, Northwood is designated as a Children’s Therapeutic Services and Supports (CTSS) program by the state of Minnesota it provides flexible mental health services for children age 0-21 who require varying therapeutic and rehabilitative levels of intervention. We now offer EMDR therapy as well.
Program Overview
A comprehensive developmental plan is prepared by a multidisciplinary team including parents, referring agency staff, teachers, therapists, supervisors, counselors, and medical services personnel. The plan outlines specific treatment goals related to the diagnosis and is evaluated on an ongoing basis.
Northwood uses a positive development and asset building approach to create a structured and nurturing living and learning environment that allows each client to develop to their full potential.

Referral Process
This program is funded through Minnesota Medical Assistance and most private health insurance companies. The first step is to determine the need for mental health services through a written evaluation called a diagnostic assessment.
