Lake Cabin
Northwood owns a cabin just a short drive north of Duluth. This experience gives students the opportunity to understand and experience the relationship between themselves and the beauty of Northern Minnesota.
Ropes Course
Challenge yourself! Our Outdoor Challenge Course allows us to provide Adventure Counseling that teaches teamwork and leadership skills to students. A generally accepted overriding goal for the entire ropes course program includes six elements, or objectives, to support the main goal. These are trust building, goal setting, challenge, teamwork, peak experience, humor/fun, problem-solving, and communication.
There is an orderly progression through the activities. Until the participants can walk, the facilitator does not ask them to run! Every activity has checkpoints to evaluate the participant’s level of preparedness.
